Many of us have a person who has impacted our lives more than anyone else. That person was my father. As my father was struggling to get me to accept that he was dying, he shared with me these last words, "I've taught you how to be a good man. I've given the example of how to be a good husband and a good father. Hopefully, I've taught you how to be a good Christian. What I didn't do was provide a good example of how to handle money. I've been terrible with money...I need you to learn about money and teach the family so this won't continue.”
Advice for Multigenerational Impact
My life's mission changed at that moment. Months after my father passed, I became involved in the financial services market, I later became involved in credit repair, I've moved into business and investment funding, and most recently, I've led my family into creating a family investment group which is developing into a family bank.
The last words of financial advice from my father had a multigenerational impact on me, my family, and countless others whom I would help in the future.
